"Our Christmas stay at the Welcombe Hotel was a nice break. The mansion is stunning, set in 157 acres of beautiful grounds, and if you’re lucky, you might even spot deer roaming around. The spa was good to have—the indoor pool, Swedish sauna, and outdoor vitality pool made for a nice way to unwind, and the thermal rooms were a nice touch. "I stayed here on New Years Eve 2019 and thoroughly enjoyed my time in Stratford. On arrival at the hotel staff couldn’t find my booking; I showed them my confirmation having paid in full. They managed to give us a room, but not sure what would have happened if the hotel was fully booked? Our room was very dated, could do with some modernisation. But overall good value for money. "

"We were really disappointed on arrival as the hotel was covered in scaffolding and the entrance looked much more like a 1970s multi-storey carpark than a 4* hotel. The stairs (the lift was out of order), reception area and room were very dated. The soundproofing in the bathroom was non-existent (my wife could hear everything next door). Having said that the beds were comfortable, the staff were friendly and the breakfast was ok."
