Southeastern United States hotel rooms a the Highgate Independent

"Hotel was very good. We received a free upgrade to a suite and a free drink while waiting to check in. Pool area was very nice. Good location across street from Bayside Marketplace. Only bad thing was the time they cleaned the room and did not give us any toilet paper at all. Nothing on toilet paper holder and none in drawer where they had the extra paper when we checked in. Also did not give us hand towels which were there at check in. I called to ask for them to bring toilet paper and...

"I am very happy with our stay. This hotel has plenty of perks like a bar/restaurant, Very close access to the beach, umbrella and chairs on the beach (with the resort fee), beach towels, and water in the lobby. We didn’t use the pool but it was a little smaller than I expected. The rooftop patio was nice at night. The front desk was very nice and helpful. Only cons we had was the elevator was very small, luckily the steps were conveniently located right beside the elevator and easy to take to...

"Beautiful location on the water. We had an ocean view room, beautiful sunrises. Walkable to many restaurants. We had breakfast at the cafe on site. Great view, food was good. Pina Coladas were good too. I would stay here again. "

"The rooms are small, considering the grandness of the rest of the property. The hotel staff is friendly and courteous; however, the staff at the hotel restaurant left a lot to be desired. We arrived at the restaurant about thirty minutes before closing. Service was slow and we had to ask for basics like water and napkins. We spent one hundred dollars for our dinner and did not get the service we expected for the amount they asked. "
