"This hotel was my favourite experience in Japan. The most striking feature is the view of Lake Kawaguchi upon entering the room. The room is also spacious and you are supplied with a yukata to wear inside the hotel. This adds to the experience of immersing yourself in the culture. The whole hotel can only be navigated in the supplied house slippers (shoes left in lobby). The parts that stood out to me was the food we had for breakfast and dinner (half-board). I always left too full to move!...

"We absolutely loved our stay at Cottage Yushin and would recommend that anyone staying at/around Lake Kawaguchi stay here as this side of the lake was very quiet and not nearly as crowded as the other side near Kawaguchi Station (the side where Mt Fuji is). "Worst capsule hotel, or even hostel, that I've ever stayed in. And I've been backpacking for almost 2 years. It was hilariously bad. Of note: the futon inside the capsule is so thin it's like sleeping on a towel. Secondly, they're are"lock out" periods, no showers after 9am, can't be inside the property between 10-4pm, which means one night stay is your best bet. Overall, the place is rubbish, but for $23/night it is priced right for Japan. Just don't have high hopes. It's hilariously bad."
