Enjoy panoramic views of Manhattan coupled with a calmer pace of life along the Hoboken Waterfront. Until the mid-20th century, this area was largely industrial. It experienced a renaissance in recent years and is now a popular destination for tourists and locals alike.

Walkers or bikers can discover the best of this vibrant city along a meandering waterfront trail. Begin your tour in neighboring Jersey City’s sprawling Liberty State Park. Take advantage of the variety of things to see and do here, from the Liberty Science Center to the Empty Sky Memorial.

Continue north along the Hudson River Waterfront Walkway. Greet the Statue of Liberty, beckoning from the New York Bay. Sitting offshore is the imposing Ellis Island, where millions of immigrants were processed in its heyday. Look across the water to Manhattan’s iconic skyline, dotted with some of the world’s most impressive skyscrapers.

Walk down Washington Street, Hoboken’s unofficial “Main Street,” which hugs the Hudson River. Browse its range of boutiques or choose from its diverse selection of eateries for a bite to eat.

Escape the hustle and bustle of the city at Pier A and Pier C Parks. Find Pier A Park directly north of the Hoboken Terminal. Lounge on its vast grassy lawns or spread out a picnic. Continue up to Pier C Park, a tiny island featuring a playground and a fishing pier.

Farther north Stevens Institute of Technology dominates the waterfront. Stroll along tree-lined paths through the campus. Make your way to Castle Point, the highest elevation in the city, for panoramic views of Manhattan. Watch skateboarders at the Castle Point Skatepark.
