The hotel is what is promises to be. It is affordable and in a good location. There are no frills and it could do with a remodel. The bed was comfortable and the shower was hot with good pressure. The staff was friendly.

Loved that it was close to Times Square. Also loved having a Bodega right next store. Staff very friendly. Rooms were clean, have stayed there twice in last month. Heat didn’t work good and can’t control it, first time ac was on and in the 30s outside, second time still cool air window units and couldn’t control. Beds dated and not comfortable in both rooms plug sockets very loose. No ice buckets a machine and plastic bags, no fridge. All that said, would possibly stay there again for convenience.

I love a good historic hotel and would absolutely stay here again. It was so convenient to walk one block to Times Square and Broadway Theatres and 4 blocks to Rockefeller Center. Good restaurant choices in all directions. Close to subways. The only thing I would change is having drapes on the windows or providing sleep masks. Our window faced the street and even 9 floors up, the room was not dark. Also, bring earplugs or a white noise app to cover up the street noise.

Awesome locations and the staff are wonderful. I would say the only negative is that the hot water only gets to body temp, no hotter! Never changed no matter the time of day for 4 days! BUT def would stay again.

Super convenient location. Clean, but lacking the little room extras like in-room coffee, microwave, fridge, etc. Very quiet for midtown Manhattan. We would definitely stay there again !

This is an old hotel so some of the accommodations are a bit dated. However, my room was clean and everything worked. There are absolutely no frills with this hotel, but it serves its purpose to have somewhere to sleep while you are enjoying all the city ha to offer. Very centrally located. I would stay here again.

This is a decently maintained but spartan hotel aimed at the Times Square show crowd and foreign travellers, its really European in amenities and layout, minus any food. The updated room showed wear and a little hair in the bathroom, the water never got hot but was passably warm, you can dial down the ferocious heat system if you know how to work a steam radiator. There is A/C. It's safe for fire - fire escape right out the window. Larger room than expected but no desk. Lots of lights, an ironing board and clean working iron and safe, toiletries and tiled bathroom. The location is remarkable - in sight of Times Square - and the hotel has charm and character, but the Russians (?) who run it are focussed on a lean operation - they seem to know all about show tickets, though. I hate Broadway shows but the price was right. Lots of happy foreign guests, but not suitable for a business trip - slow wifi and no kettle or desk. Would recommend to people looking for reasonably priced and very well located, attentively maintained but spartan place for seeing shows and shopping. TV worked fine. They're busy people working to upgrade it. Very NY experience.
