"Let some start off by saying the hotel is beautiful and most of the staff is extremely friendly. My room was a nice size and had everything I needed. The rain shower was awesome. It had amazing pressure and was the best feature in my room hands down. The continental breakfast was delicious, they provided a great assortment of fresh fruits along with cooked foods like scrambled eggs, fried plantains and sausage, just to name a few. The only reason for the 4 star rating is due to their guest...

"Location: by the sea wall. Where it is part of the walking tour, my room was room 11 has a balcony overlooking San Felipe Castle (20 mins walk from the hotel). Everything was within walking distance, 20 mins to the clock tower. Lots of dining options around the block. Airport is about 30 mins away with traffic, around 25,000 colombian peso (US$1 = 3,800 in money changer place). The area is safe as well, I travelled solo and no problems walking in the anytime. The most I was out was around 11pm....

"We chose SABAI to end our trip for the peace and quiet it advertises. However, on one of the days we stayed here, the hotel accepted an exceptionally large group of really loud partygoers that really ruined the experience. I talked to the manager and explained my discontent, which she understood, and offered a discount. At checkout, the discount was forgotten, and I ended up having to argue with staff who gave us 20% off of one night, which is peanuts. Very disappointing. I hope that management...

"I had been to Cartagena two months before, so I knew how hot it was and I only searched Hotels.com for hotels with pools. I arrived for an eight night stay - and no pool. After two hours on the phone with customer service and the hotel's non-English speaking concierge, I finally gave up. Otherwise, the hotel is lovely for the price if a bit stingy with coffee at breakfast (when I asked for a third cup, I was told there was no more). It is not the hotel's fault that the house across the street...
