Excellent art museum in Riverside. Two excellent locally owned independent bookstores. Some fine restaurants. Difficult to find neighborhood grocery stores or drugstores.

Visit Nifty Nuts for a fun retro trip back to a candy store. We loved Old Chicago for pizza and beer; and desserts at Milkfloat are delicious!

Of course my favorite attraction was McConnell AFB, as a child born and raised in the Air Force, is was like coming home. But a close second was the beautiful downtown, with the Keeper of the Plains statue and the gorgeous Bradford Pear Trees

Wichita, Kansas is a mid-level city located in the southcentral part of the state. National figure skating competition was going on during the time I stayed a few blocks away. The beautiful Catholic Cathedral church is located about a mile north.

Don't take my 4 stars about Wichita personally. Old Town is great and so is Henry Levitt Arena. (I refuse to call it Koch arena). Wichita is my areas evil twin athletically, and I was there for the state basketball tournament.
"Fancier than I normally use. Got there too late to enjoy it. Is connected to a casino which is nice if you're a gambler. It was clean, quiet and updated. People at the desk all seem bored with their jobs. Dont go out of the way to give helpful information except the blond haired lady on the morning of Sat July 26th. She was friendly. They need to be friendly and engaging to work with the public. Also no carts to load stuff if you're parked in the back. Back entrance needs a sign like BACK ENTRANCE so we know which door to use."
"Inside was great! Some clutter around building (restaurant) appeared to be being worked on possibly. Staff and inside more than made up for the outside of property."
