"Liked my room that had view of west side as well as the ocean/beach. Large room very nice. Next time I'll upgrade to a balcony. Great female staff member at check-in, but another day asked a male at front desk for restaurant recommendations. He said none, except one across the street. Didn't even ask if I could walk a few blocks, etc. Just not very friendly or a good host. Otherwise, beach and chairs/towels/umbrellas great addition. "

"Overall I was happy with my stay - my room was great as it had been updated, modern and clean.Hotel parking was available for a fee but I felt it was reasonable for that area - However the hotel itself could use some serious updating - it is old and outdated - the lounge / lobby area didn't have a fresh smell - not sure if it was tobacco but it seemed stuffy. The front desk staff was excellent! friendly and very helpful. Beach access was easy - "

"Property was great. It was cute and clean and we loved the rooftop patio and free happy hour. The restaurant was ok but expensive and food wasn’t that great for the price. The area wasn’t our favorite but only because we were there with two young kids to go explore the national parks and the immediate area really had nothing to do as a family other than the beach. "

"Location was excellent. Servers were very friendly. Front desk seemed hectic, tried calling several times as location was hard to find, there was no answer. Need to ask for vouchers for breakfast, which was very good. Used towels (also front desk) and chair service at 15th st. Room was comfortable. Would stay again. "

"The location is unbeatable, right by the ocean and within walking distance of all the nightlife and restaurants. The staff was incredibly friendly and made me feel at home. My room was stylish and spacious. Everything was spotless, and I loved every minute of my stay!"

"The Avalon Hotel was a good choice for our 3 night warm getaway from the winter. Comparing similar options, this was likely a great option. There was self-serve coffee in the mornings which we appreciated. A few things I noticed that I wish were different: sound - In the mornings and evenings we could hear every door on our floor shut (the door closing sound is loud). "Great location close to all that is South Beach! Excellent service and amenities! Enjoyed the rooftop pool with bar and ground floor restaurant as well as the use of towels, lounge chairs at the beach which was short was across the street. Friendly, helpful staff. "
