"Charming little hotel right on Saratoga Lake. Format is an old-style "tavern on the bottom, small rooms above" configuration. The room was snug and outfitted in a clean, updated Colonial fashion. Didn't give 5 stars for service, not because it was bad, but it was essentially self-check and stay. Lovely to wake up to the lake outside our window. A couple of caveats that might affect your choice. The rooms are small (at least ours was), so don't plan on spreading your stuff out. If you can't...

"Fun to stay in a place with so much history, literally staying in a museum. Rooms are stunning but be aware that this is a historic mansion so there are some quirks. Bathrooms with 14-foot ceilings take a while to heat up!"
