"This hotel was my favorite out of the 4 we stayed in during our Japan trip. The beds were comfortable, bathroom had all we needed and the balcony gave us the most amazing view in the morning, definitely get a room facing the water and mountain. "The Fujiya is an impressive and beautiful historic hotel. We stayed with our 5 month old baby in the Forest wing. The room itself was spacious and the decor in keeping with the Classical design of the hotel. I particularly enjoyed the onsen and the western breakfast (best breakfast of our trip). "My husband, daughter and I spent our last night in Japan at this property. At the time of booking, rooms with a private onsen were sold out. We missed out on the experience but we stayed at the Annex (a little outdated but Ok). Check in and check out were a breeze. Very polite clerks. I liked their gift shop, complimentary coffee and treats in the lobby. Overall, I would recommend it. "

"Our accommodation was wonderful with friendly and helpful staff. However, the price tag of their Japanese style restaurant was overly priced. For example, a small plate of tempura was around $25 USD. We ordered our dinner a La carte and was 19,000 yen, around $122 USD. If we had done a set menu, average price would have been over $120/pp. The highlight was a 3 minute walk to the doorway to the view of Mt. Fuji, about 1800 yen/pp. we had great opportunity for pictures!"
