Whether you’re performing here, watching your favorite sports team or entertainer or touring the venue, you’re in for an exciting event.

Midtown Manhattan has one of the world’s most famous indoor arenas: Madison Square Garden (MSG). Watch the NBA New York Knicks, NHL New York Rangers and WNBA New York Liberty or your favorite big-name concert performers at this huge venue.

Over its 130 years of operation, the arena has made sports and entertainment history. See photos and artifacts of these Defining Moments in exhibits on two concourse levels. Garden 366 wraps the walls of the sixth floor with historic MSG images, one for every day of the year. In addition to basketball and hockey highlights, exhibits include Marilyn Monroe singing Happy Birthday to President John F. Kennedy, major concerts by Billy Joel and others, national political conventions, the famous Ali and Frazier fight and the 6-day bike race held annually in the early 1900s.

During events, purchase refreshments at one of the many concession stands throughout the arena. Alternatively, make a reservation to dine at the exclusive Club Bar and Grill on the Terrace Level before events start.

If you won’t be attending an event at Madison Square Garden, join an all-access tour to see special areas normally open only to VIPs, such as the Knicks’ and Rangers’ locker rooms. Tours run most days, but check the online calendar for specific available dates. Purchase tour tickets online for reduced prices. Group tours offer extra activities, including a workshop with the talented Knicks City Dancers. VIP and DELTA SKY360oClub ticket holders may have a chance to see the MSG Network Broadcast Studio and watch players enter and exit the arena.

Be aware that bags may be checked before entry, so travel light. Bring binoculars for close-up views. The venue is large, with seating capacity of up to 19,830. See kids’ shows and other performances in the on-site 5,600-seat theater.

Walk here or take the subway to Pennsylvania Station below the arena. View commemorative plaques for performers, athletes and others on the outdoor Walk of Fame. For an exciting highlight of your New York City visit, enjoy one of more than 300 annual events held at Madison Square Garden.
