"My room 1272 was a good size for solo use, it was a bit of a walk from reception but there’s clear steps/walkways. Some aspects a bit dated. Could not use balcony due to sharp palm tree leaves taking up 1/2 the space. Walk to the beach/shops was ok, around 15 minutes safe and quiet area. The walk back from the beach does have a small incline but most people with moderate fitness will cope. Would not have paid the full price but it was fairly priced for the ‘offer price’."

"There are many, many great points about this resort. The staff, the food, the showers, everything was great. The reason for only four stars instead of five is because there is a mandatory rule that men must wear trousers to eat inside any restaurant and this was not explained before arrival. Women can wear any length of dress, skirt or shorts but men must be in full length trousers. Only having the one pair that I flew in left me with little options. "This hotel is one of the nicest places I have ever stayed. The location is perfect, the views are amazing, the decor is stunning and the service is fantastic. Although the evenings were cool in February, we could still enjoy drinks (excellent cocktails) on the patio which had the most fantastic sunset views. "A pleasant surprise. I didn’t know what to expect but it really impressed me. Great hotel for kids and families but also me (as a solo traveller) enjoyed it. Loved the help yourself element to the all inclusive. Means there weren’t any huge queues at the bar. Rooms were a very good size. The hot food for dinner could’ve had a bit more flavour and variety but that was one of a few downsides. I’d visit again in a heartbeat. "

"Arrived late and collected the keys per instructions. The grounds are stunning and maintained to a high standard. Our apartment was very well equipped and spotlessly clean. Housekeeping every second day from arrival ensured it was kept clean. Staff all very pleasant and just a short walk to the beach and restaurants nearby. The main bus station is a 2 minute walk. Really lovely place to stay but when we were there in a January it was quite quiet especially in the evenings. "

"Lovely hotel, clean, spacious, nice and quiet too with plenty of sunbeds and space around the pool. Easy walking distance from all local amenities e.g. beach, Yumbo, restaurants and a good supermarket. All staff seemed friendly and polite. Only issue was there was an alarm in a room near the sauna that started going off one evening, reported to their phone line but it carried on through the night until the morning, had to use ear plugs to drown it out, don’t think anybody came out to sort it...

"We had a great stay overall. The hotel is lovely, well-maintained, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The jacuzzi was a highlight—warm, relaxing, and a great way to unwind. The atmosphere was peaceful, with no children around, making it a quiet and restful experience. However, there were a few downsides. The cleanliness of the room wasn’t up to standard—the floors didn’t seem to be mopped properly (if at all), and one day, our towels weren’t replaced. The biggest issue was the shower, which kept overflowing and flooding the bathroom. Another drawback was the lack of privacy due to the adjoining rooms. While this setup might be convenient for families, I could hear every movement from the neighbouring room, including footsteps and even bathroom use. Overall, it’s a good hotel with some great features, but the lack of privacy and upkeep of the room let it down. "

"Lovely views from everywhere. Attractive and clean environment .Good beach and sea bathing - all strikingly clean. A wealth of bars and restaurants behind beach, with some decent shops too. Excellent hotel for couples with/without young children.A bit limited for older offspring.Some traffic noise from vehicles going to and from Puerto Mogan, but these are out of sight."

Very enjoyable stay

"I'd read on trip advisor that there was terrible food poisoning etc! Rubbish, they might have had a norovirus bug in the hotel but staff made every effort with sanitisers at meal times to eliminate this, although we never spoke to anyone who was affected. Food was lovely & varied, no complaints. I was here for my friends 60th, as I found it, all the staff I came across were amazing. Salvador in the main restaurant who works mornings & evenings was brilliant when we wanted to organise a cake we had to bring our own as hotel need 48hrs (for info), to supply one. He kept it cool for us & made sure staff brought it out at correct time. All rooms sea view & west facing so you get the sunset. My only downside is the entertainment at night, its very basic/boring, thats my only complaint, Riu liven the entertainment up! We may be middle aged but people love 'Good Music'."

"Cannot fault this hotel and its facilities. Staff were polite, professional and very helpful. House-keeping is excellent. All the rooms have sea view. We were upgraded from premium room to a massive suite. Balcony was superb with sofa and jacuzzi. Breakfast was standard. Dinner in the buffet restaurant was average. The 222 restaurant is highly overpriced and food below par hence cannot recommend it. The Pool Bar is okay for lunch but there are lots of nice places to eat about 7 - 10mins walk from the hotel. The bus stop (Patalavaca) is also about 7-8mins walk. Location is very good with access to the beach and boardwalk. Overall, highly recommend this hotel."
