Fly above Canada’s stunning scenery aboard a flight simulator and watch a movie in the open-air cinema at this expansive entertainment complex.

Recognizable by the iconic fabric sails that line its roof, the intriguing building at Canada Place holds some of the city’s most important financial centers and acts as a cruise ship terminal. Celebrate the country’s culture and geography as you traverse the Canadian Trail that represents its provinces and territories.

Children will love a trip on the FlyOver Canada ride that takes you on a journey across the country. The simulator, which lasts 8 minutes, covers both coasts of the country as well as the snowy northern terrain of Canada. Purchase a souvenir photo of you and your family enjoying the ride.

Capture photos of the iconic sails that rise above the building and the mountains in the distance. The sails have a height of 90 feet (27 meters) and are made of Teflon-coated fiberglass. Visit at night to see the sails illuminated with a vibrant array of colors and animations.

Spend the night at Canada Place by booking a room at one of the many hotels in the area. A number of restaurants offer a range of dining options. Have an early lunch to listen to the Canadian national anthem, which sounds at midday from the Heritage Horns. The theatrical display consists of 10 horns that create a sound that can be heard across downtown Vancouver.

Take a guided walking tour of the Canadian Trail for intriguing facts about the country, or sign up for a tour of Port Metro Vancouver to learn about the large port. Watch as cruise ships leave for Alaska from the ship terminal.

Watch a movie under the stars in summer at the Waterfront Cinema. Bring a blanket and purchase popcorn from the bar as you settle down in the romantic setting.

The complex was the main press area during the 2010 Winter Olympics and today is home to Vancouver Convention Centre and Vancouver’s World Trade Centre. Many events and exhibitions are hosted in the space throughout the year.

Purchase tickets to FlyOver Canada at the entrance on the northern side of the complex. The simulator is open daily, with rides starting every 15 minutes.

Canada Place is located to the north of Vancouver’s city center. Take a bus to one of the nearby stops or ride the SkyTrain to Waterfront Station, a short walk from the Burrard Inlet.
