"We needed a place to stay in or near Vinci for the night before our 3 week stay in a nearby villa began. Il Piastrino looked lovely and was VERY well priced. And it was exceptionally nice—from the spacious, charming rooms (surprise—we had a kitchen), the delicious breakfast, to the warm and welcoming staff. We arrived very late toward the end of a busy pris fixe am fresco dinner service but we were settled in and set at ease. And yes, we returned a few days later for the al fresco dining. Wow....

"Our host owner Francesca was in attendance and very engaged in the agribusiness of the Villa. We learned from her the Villa was originally constructed in 16 th century hunting lodge of the DeMedici family. We were given a complimentary wine tasting and tour of the Villa’s production facility. The local town of Vinci was hosting a 400 year anniversary of Leonardo de Vinci and tours of the museum. The townsfolk dressed in Renaissance period attire and had many street vendors with art related...
