"The hotel didn't particularly stand out in any way, and generally I had a pleasant stay, with one glaring exception. We were on vacation visiting a lot of the New England areas, and had a large, heavy gift bag of souvenirs and gifts we had bought. Housekeeping took it, and when we found it missing they claimed Housekeeping said they thought it was trash. Everything in the bag was brand new and there was no trash in the bag. "We loved our stay at the Garrison hotel. The location cannot be beat! Loved the historic nature of the inn. Staff were pleasant and the made-to-order breakfast was a real bonus. Facility was clean. The Inn fell short of a five star rating for two reasons - one is an easier fix than the other. The bed in our room was uncomfortable the first night, but in subsequent nights, our backs, neck and shoulders began to ache and getting a decent sleep was elusive. The mattress really needs to be...
