Enjoy a relaxed walk around Marina Chahué, a small marina set on the shores of the Pacific Ocean. Take a moment to admire the mix of fishing boats, catamarans and yachts. Visit at sunset, when the boats provide a picture-perfect foreground to a sky of orange, pink and red shades. Marina Chahué is a good place to spot varied birdlife. Stroll inland along the estuary and look for egrets, grackles and parrots, among other varieties of birds.
Located in the Huatulco village of La Crucecita, Marina Chahué is a great starting point for exploring the Bahías de Huatulco. This coastal region boasts numerous beaches of golden sand and transparent water set around nine pretty bays. Discover boundless opportunities to swim, snorkel and bask in Huatulco’s consistent sunshine.
Just a 20-minute walk from the marina is Playa Chahué (Chahué Beach), a beach with calm water and backed by green hills. Continue on foot along the wide sidewalks to Bahía de Santa Cruz. Browse handicraft shops and watch cruise ships arrive at the ferry dock. At Playa Santa Cruz (Santa Cruz Beach) you can rent Jet Skis and snorkeling equipment and arrange scuba diving excursions.
Go to Parque Nacional Huatulco (Huatulco National Park), which starts at Bahía de Santa Cruz and stretches west along the coast. Join boat rides to secluded bays, such as Bahía San Agustin and Bahía Chachacual, for more snorkeling adventures in pristine waters. Alternatively, take a guided hike and spot exotic birds.
A short drive east of the marina is the upmarket resort of Bahía Tangolunda. Travel further east along the coast to find the popular surf beaches of Barra de la Cruz and Playa El Mojon (El Mojon Beach).
