"Great location, easy to walk to food and shopping"

"I loved the ocean view and the balcony. There are many seals across the street and plenty of shops within walking distance. Some people might complain about the noise of the seals, but if your window is closed you can’t hear them. I kept the balcony door open just a little and I could only hear a seal once in a while at night. Waking up to that ocean view was just beautiful. I had planned to leave the following day, but I had gone to La Jolla for a medical procedure and I didn’t feel well that night, so I had my husband ask at the front desk, if we could stay another night for the same price. I don’t know if this was an exception for me, since I was still recovering. Either way, I was very grateful and they were very nice about it. I will definitely go back again. I’d also add that I stayed in one of the remodels, not the older buildings. Thank you La Jolla Cove, for making my trip less stressful. "

"Had a wonderful time staying at the Shoal. We would get our morning coffee and walk 5 minutes to the beach.. we also walked or took the bus all over the San Diego area from the hotel. This is a wonderful gem."

"We stay for a water polo tournament at UCSD. The Marriott is very close. Westgate mall is a block away with several dining options as well as shopping. Also a small strip mall right there with Starbucks & a liquor store."
