"Location is excellent. Our little kid (less than 2 years old) loved the view of shinkansen and taxis moving around. It helped us a lot for comforting a little baby. The hotel was renovated with good quality interior and TV. Price was good compared to other hotels."

"I had a 4 night solo stay at Hotel Granvia Kyoto. Location was excellent for sightseeing in and around Kyoto as well as day trips using the Shinkansen to other cities. Great restaurants are plentiful in Kyoto station and within easy walking distance of hotel. As a female traveler I felt absolutely safe in this area and using the trains/subway and walking at night. Often hotels near train stations are seedy but Japanese standards are not the same as Europe etc. I booked a superior room with a beautiful view of the Kyoto Tower and noise was a non-issue from the street or the trains. Rooms are soundproof and I slept well every night. The superior room was divinely spacious and thoughtfully well appointed. After the cramped and pricier hotel rooms in Tokyo, the Granvia was a welcome and relaxing change. My breakfast was included and I enjoyed both the western and traditional Japanese restaurants. Gym access was a nice touch to burn off the oishi ramen and sushi! Staff are attentive and very respectful. Very elevated experience at reasonable price and Granvia exceeded my expectations. Beautifully appointed superior room was a full suite with seating area as well as table/desk area. Conveniently located with Kyoto station attached to hotel was unbeatable perk for my sightseeing. Highly recommend!"
