"Beautiful location close to Tanukikoji in the Susukino area. Staff are professional and helpful; staff also understand/communicate in English. To no fault of the staff, the rooms have an odd smell. This is most likely from the long history of the hotel. Usual wear-and-tear. The rooms are one of the most spacious I've been in while visiting Japan. "

"We loved the location, a tram stop right in front of the hotel and a Family Mart attached. Less than 10 minutes to Goryokaku Tower/park. The laundry onsite was reasonably affordable. The room was relatively large as well as the bathroom, and the pajamas they provided were our most comfortable that we slept in in Japan. "Food could be a little better "

"The location was away from the town and other facilities so having transport is essential. The room was OK but not spacious. The breakfast did not have a lot of variety for the western palate and did not seem to change. Staff were helpful."
