I recommend going kayaking on the Eure river. It all makes for a relaxing respite from the bustling, overwhelm of Paris. Only one hour away by train, this place is absolutely a gem. When I arrived on Sunday afternoon, the lobby was locked and no one was there except a maid who was illiterate even in French.
