"Excellent, safe, convenient little oasis in the heart of the old city. Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. The room had everything we needed and plenty of space. Loved overlooking the quiet, treed pool area. Good breakfast (don’t know about the other meals, but the restaurant was full. Good for families because of the pool area - but it was guilt and restful for any guests."

"This place was perfect for me. Super affordable and convenient with out being a typical hostel. Private clean room with nice bed, bathroom, shower, AC, Wi-Fi, and power. Very quiet at night (it’s on a walking street with very few vehicles). Close to everything in the middle of the old town. So many food options, temples, bars, shopping, rentals, massages, cooking classes, and nightlife within 1-5 minutes walking. Most of these things are even right on the quiet walking street. "

"The staff at our B& B was fantastic! They did our laundry everyday if we put it out at no charge! They were very accommodating. Carried our Heavy luggage to the 3rd floor for us. Breakfast every day for 150baht which is about $4.50. I would definitely go back there again!"

"Great location! We were able to walk everywhere. Our kids liked having McDonald’s nearby while we enjoyed trying different places. Side note, coffee shop at the corner has amazing iced lattes! Staff was very friendly and helpful. We were backpacking and used their laundry service which returned on time and clean. We checked out at noon, but flight was at 5 and kids were a little overheated so the lobby was perfect to relax and play cards. Overall great stay and I would recommend for families."

"The hotel only has three rooms - each uniquely decorated. The decor really appealed to me when I booked our stay and it did not disappoint. Many distinct design elements and textures were thoughtfully weaved in throughout the entire suite. Staff were warm and helpful. Location is great - plenty of great restaurants and streetfood nearby (quite a few on Michelin BIB list). Overall a great stay!"

"Lovely comfortable stay for solo travellers. Just off the main road and walking distance to old town and night bazar markets. Many tour companies near by to book excursions, the hotel also provides them but is cheaper to book off the main road. Everything was great with this place, hot water, tc, AC, kettle, towels and cleaning every day. Walls are pretty thin so you can hear of the neighbour has TV on etc but not an issue as you're out most of the day. "

"At first glance, the staff isn’t very welcoming, but after a few days, they become more friendly. Otherwise, the hotel is very good, very clean, very well located… the breakfast is excellent, and the rooms are very comfortable, though they could use darker curtains. "I had a standard private room, which is in a separate building from the rest of the hostel. Spacious, comfortable room with good amenities. It was awkward at first, because access to the rooms is through the Meetman Restaurant, but the staff made me feel welcome. Great location near the Thapae Gate. Heaps of worthwhile stuff within an easy walk."

"Amazing stay at Thai Akara. The service was amazing from staff, they helped book activities for us when ever we needed! On our last day we had an early flight and they even provided us with a breakfast takeaway box. The hotel itself is clean, nice and has everything you need. The breakfast buffet was delicious and had a good variety of food- they make sure they cater to vegetarians. The only slight negative was only one bedside table in a double room. We would definitely come back to this hotel...
