"This was a ryokan/modern room hybrid, but more on the modern side. Very quiet and comfortable. Everything was clean and well maintained. The location is great and the neighborhood is awesome. It is not right next to anything, but is close to a lot of things. We had a wonderful stay here. Small room, but very convenient and comfortable. Thank you Machiya Kamiumea for a lovely experience."

"Really enjoyed our stay in the ISAMI room. Everything you would require and left to your own devices. I would say it is far from like gion and the main attractions. Taxis were cheap enough but if staying long term it isn’t ideally central. I did find that the bathroom and door was a little mouldy especially with it being wood. Apart from that really nice stay! The staff helped out as we arrived with our luggage first before heading back out even tho the room was still in use. "
