Great value for money and the hotel is perfectly placed to discover the jewels of the Dordogne such as Perigueux and the cave paintings at Lascaux. "Overall this was very good. Friendly staff. Nice big bedroom. All very clean and tidy...although it could do with updating, especially the bathroom. The bathroom was very clean but tired...although well scrubbed. The breakfast was plentiful with fruit, cereals, pastries, meats, cheese etc We didn't eat evening meal but it looked OK, but we went to old town Brive for a look around. Overall excellent stay and especially considering the low cost."

"Wonderful family 2-night stay in the top floor family suite (2 adults 2 children). 2 interconnected rooms each with own bathroom and seating area (couch and coffee table). "We spent 2 nights at Spalazen over New Years. The apartments are nice, very spacious and of course the hot tub is an awesome addition :) the service is top notch and very friendly. I’d recommend for a peaceful, lazy getaway. We stayed in cabin #1 and the only thing I would say is there’s a few things missing that would have helped us out. We were in our camper van so luckily could grab these extras! It’s a self catering lodge but meals can be provided for too if you like. - no soap in toilet....
