This family-friendly resort is ideally situated for exploring Rimini’s Adriatic Riviera coastline and visiting attractions in the region’s hinterland.  

Torre Pedrera is one of the many popular coastal towns set within easy reach of central Rimini. The shimmering water of the Adriatic Sea lures watersport enthusiasts while boutiques and restaurants line the quiet town streets. Torre Pedrera takes its name from a stone tower commissioned by the Papal State in 1673. Prior to becoming a vacation resort, the town helped protect the region from raids by the Saracens and Turks.

The seafront, with 1.2 miles (2 kilometers) of golden sand and breakwaters, is the main attraction. There are 20 private beach clubs plus free public areas. Pay the fee to enter a club to benefit from the use of bars, changing facilities, children’s playgrounds and sun loungers. Sailing, windsurfing and waterskiing are among various water-based activities offered.

Seafront Viale San Salvador is the commercial center, home to fashion stores and souvenir shops. Campsites, family-run guesthouses and luxury hotels cater to the accommodation needs of all travelers. Refuel at bakeries, pizzerias, seafood bars and trattorias. Every Sunday the Mercatini Settimanale flea market takes over the streets with stands offering everything from fresh produce to books, textiles and tools.

Summertime is a season of festivals in Torre Pedrera. Come in June when the East Coast Festival celebrates classic U.S. cars. In late July the Festa della Tebbiatura honors Emilia-Romagna’s rural traditions with displays of farm wagons, live music and parades. Don’t miss December’s Nativity in the Sand, when skilled artists create biblical scenes with sand sculptures.

Away from the coast there are plenty of daytrips to enjoy. Walk between a collection of famous Italian and European landmarks at Italy in Miniature. At nearby Bellaria-Igea Marina you can visit a Saracen Tower and explore the Sentieri per l’Uso riverside walking trails. The ancient microstate of San Marino is only a 40-minute drive away.

Torre Pedrera is 6.2 miles (10 kilometers) north of Rimini. The train from Rimini’s central station connects with Rimini-Viserba, Rimini Torre Pedrera, Igea Marina and Bellaria.
