"The place was incredibly cozy. The owners are amazing - give you a map that shows all the local places when you check in. They even lent me a bamboo mat for the beach! "The hotel has a 3 bedroom apartment with 3 bathrooms which is a rare find. The apartment is tastefully decorated and has an amazing view of the ocean. Whilst it has a dining table for 6, there is no kitchenette except for a bar fridge & tea/coffee and kettle in the master bedroom. Downside is that it gets quite noisy at night from the beach bar next door. In addition, the breakfast buffet spread isn't great in terms of choice and taste. Also worth noting that the spa has been closed for years."

"This was the second time we stayed at the Ascott within a month. We were in Penang for over three weeks to celebrate the Chinese New Year with our family in Penang. We decided to stay here again on the same trip. We like the amenities offered by Ascott such as the in-room washer and dryer, spacious room layout and excellent staff service. We walked to Gurney Plaza shopping mall and avoided the headaches of finding parking in the crowded shopping mall garage. This is a great hotel and we will certainly stay here again in the future."
