All dining areas were lovely and the club lounge for cocktail hour added something extra special. Its lovely but note: - very little information is given at check in about bars/facilities/features of the hotel - the victory suites do not allow access to the heritage pool, nor access to the club suite, none of which was intimated anywhere when booking nor on the hotel's own website/literature. We asked to upgrade when we found this and got a flat refusal - the victory pool while lovely has steps into it the last one being about 18 2 feet abovethe pool floor. If you are elderly or got good on your feet, you will struggle - some areas could do with TLC, e.g the wondows in Planters Bar needed a wash and the outside tables were grubby

A good choice for Penang

Great iconic hotel - good value overall - we stayed in the Victory wing and the rooms are spacious and we preferred to the heritage section. Service was polite, not overbearing and the hotel had a nice relaxed feel. Lovely infinity pool. Breakfast catered adequately fif every taste.
