Stuttgart Opera is a historic theater with a full and varied lineup of shows year round. Note that the opera house dates back to 1909 and was the only part of the theatrical compound to survive World War II. The 1,404-seat auditorium played a major role in Stuttgart’s theatrical history, having presented the German premiere of Handel’s Rodelinda as well as debuts for other important works. Recordings of important classical albums also take place in the complex.
