"My wife and I needed a little "escape from reality" for the weekend. Between careers and other responsibilities, we usually only have the occasional weekends for just us. We had talked about staying at the Hawthorn before since it is close to home and has a good bit to see within walking distance, so we decided to give it a try. I'm glad we did. "I checked in after a couple who walked in with a couple of large hairy dogs, and I know this is a new thing that hotels allow dogs, and was worried the room would smell like dogs, but was relieved that was a very clean room with no dog smell! The bed was comfy, breakfast was great, staff was friendly and helpful. Would probably stay here again. It was located away from road noise, but wish it would have been a closer walk to downtown, as you have to cross a 4-lane highway to walk to town."
