"Beautiful monastery restored! Lovely breakfast included, great bar and restaurant, and lovely to eat and sip in the courtyard. I wasn’t aware when I booked it that it was at the top of the hill… hard to determine on a two-dimensional map! But what a treat to discover it! Easy 5 min walk to the Roman amphitheater, and another 5 min to the Basilica and the funicular to take you down to the old, lively city center. It was very hot while we were there and the A/C (like many European hotels) was not very powerful. But overall a wonderful experience. "

"The room was very spacious and had excellent air conditioning. The shower was appropriate sized (vs those tiny tube sized showers in most of Europe). We did not hear others around us and slept well. We took advantage of the valet parking and truly appreciated that. We were able to easily walk and venture into Lyon from the location and felt very safe in our surroundings. The pillows were incredibly flat so I recommend asking for more. Easy fix"

Good end results!

"When I arrived at the hotel, there was no one at the front desk. I rang the bell and waited a long time. After ringing many times, an attendant came to the desk (about 30 minutes later). He seemed unprepared for me, and left to find a room. After 15 minutes and me ringing the bell several times again, he came back. He was very nice, appologetic, and assigned a "room with a view". This was on the 4th floor with no elevator. The room's window openned to the view of a wall, and it was extremely hot with no air-conditioning. I went down stairs to request a refund. The attendant said he'd reassign me to the best room. This was on the 5rh floor, and it really was nice. The window opened to a balcony with a view over looking the city. It had a fan and the room cooled off quickly. Even though the service was slow, at first, the end results were a comfortable clean room located close to transportation and a 15 minute walk to Parc de la Tete d'Or. I would stay in that room again. The value for the room was also good."
