Location is perfect if you’re motorbiking around - it’s away from the kinda trashy ao nang beach - and the window overlooked the ocean so that’s pretty great. "A small beach resort with a nice sea/sunset view. Very clean and quiet. The owner and ladies work in this property are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast on the beach is a nice touch! One thing that you do need your own transportation, the little village has a few decent restaurants within walking distance but most of them are closed by 9 pm. "Lovely Resort! The staff are so kind and accommodating! You can rent a scooter from the resort , so cheap and explore the island. Breakfast was included and average but yummy! The dining options for lunch and supper are Thai and western, very good! Nice clean rooms and if you get a room without an attached pool you can use the pool at the resort on the beach down below! "The staff were very friendly and accomodating. We were there in the off season and arrived in a heavy rain and the staff made the check in process easy. We did an excurision for the hotel in a long boat to the islands with our guide Pong. I highly recommend it was great experience swimming in the lagoon, enjoying the beach and observation tower. Luxury last 3 days of honeymoon

"This was just luxury for our last 3 nights of honeymoon the horizon sea view room was perfect, the bedding was the most comfortable & the best sleep we’ve ever had! The staff were all so friendly & the food was incredible, breakfast had so much choice the eggs Benedict cooked to perfection. We ate at Sala restaurant & by the pool also & both meals were fantastic. We can recommend the Lamb chops. We really can’t fault this hotel, the facilities, staff, food & rooms were all excellent to finish our holiday. The location was good for us & the beach club just across the road was a perfect spot on the beach. We actually booked this 2 weeks before as our original choice hotel on its own beach & needed a speedboat to get to suddenly started to get some really poor reviews & we were getting worried but we are so glad we changed to the Varana as it really was top class "

"This small resort was incredible! It was truly paradise. The restaurant food was pricey compared to Thai dishes outside of hotel but the Thai dishes were very delicious. The western dishes were ok, but sufficed to mix up eating Thai for every meal. Breakfast was included and had amazing view of ocean and buffet style, very delicious. The staff was all so kind and welcoming and very helpful! Would stay here again! "

"Everything about this property is exemplary. The staff were so kind and helpful, we loved the primitive but low-key tech friendly villa, the food was excellent and day tours to the Phi Phi Islands and diving, snorkeling etc were breathtaking. I have been blessed to stay in 5 star resorts in Australia, the Caribbean Hawaii etc and would rank this the best. Of course we will be back soon! "

"Wow!! What an incredible stay! This place is so much better than you can tell or imagine when booking it. Very boutique luxury stay. It has 4 villas, with a dedicated restaurant and pool. But the concierge service is fantastic. From before our arrival they arranged our transportation, arrival dinner and tours. They are the type to predict the guest need before the guest event thinks about it. Very proactive approach to management. The food was very good. The drinks were good. Reasonably priced for the boutique setting. They have scooters for around the island. I can't say enough. Would be back in a heartbeat. "
