"The resort itself is very beautiful and the location is great, but it is an eco resort. So there is no blow dryer, no handsoap in the bathroom or kitchen, no hair conditioner, and ac only in the bedroom. The property is beautiful but come prepared."

"Beautiful property on a great snorkeling and diving beach. Units are comfortable, clean, and cute. (Our three bedroom was quite large). Grounds are beautiful— be sure to check out the cliffside hot top. You can walk down to the beach or swim off their small dock. Friendly staff. We wish we’d spent our entire time on the island here. Limited check in hours and water doesn’t get very hot (expected for the area and type of lodging). So, probably good to know that beforehand. "

"Property never shown to us. Unable to locate silverware. One of 2 ac units did not work. No washer as advertised. No swimming pool as advertised. Special code for beach & gate entrance never given. Bathroom door broken. Needs more clothes storage for extended stay. Many issues could be resolved with proper unit personal show-around. Management needs to focus on customer service rather than Christmas parties. "

"Loved the location and apartment, however, a few things are desired for the apartment, such as a curtain to cover the large glass doors so everyone can’t see in at all hours. They didn’t come to clean at all, just brought us clean towels. Also, if you are a light sleeper, the clinging of the sun shades outside may wake you frequently. Nonetheless, I would stay at The Reef again. The pool was beautiful and the area was nice and quiet. The apartment was nicely decorated in a cheek, modern design. "

"pretty spacious, nice and clean. Nice seating lounge outside with large plants and colorful prints by each door, many sofas, tables and chairs. Clothes lines to dry your clothes. "Perfect spacious apartment for an affordable stay. It isn't close to anything walking distance, so a car rental is necessary. It is a very tight parking space provided but there is a gravel parking area just up the alley. Make sure to bring mosquito repellant and a citronella candle if you want to sit on the patio. "This was my first time on the West (countryside) of the island so, it was quite different! Yuri and Diamond (staff) made the trip memorable! They set me up with groceries in the frig and helped me secure a vehicle so I could explore the beautiful beaches. "We had a wonderful time at the Avila. It exceeded our expectations. The private beaches are small, but beautiful and did not feel crowded, even during peak season. the pool was nice too. The whole hotel and grounds were vey well maintained. We especially enjoyed the snorkeling in the calm, clear water. Breakfast buffet was great and offers a wide variety of options with slight variations every day. We had one meal at The Pen and one meal at Blues. These were ok, but not great. There are many better options for dinner within a short walking distance. We would definitely choose this hotel again. "
