The resort is beautiful. One of the nicest rooms I’ve had with an awesome balcony and view. Pool bar staff was great. Shout out to Israel. Dining staff not as great. Food options were limited and not the best. Entertainment was pretty much the same every night with different color themes and definitely geared to the 20 something crowd. The hotel itself was awesome so if you aren’t concerned with mediocre food and enjoy extremely loud music, the place will be great for you.

Absolutely loved this resort. Food was amazing, staff was extremely kind and welcoming, atmosphere catered to a variety of needs like relaxation, fun, partying, etc. Community areas and private rooms were spacious. We got upgraded to a private corner suite when we arrived so that was a pleasant surprise!

Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay here. We were travelling for a 30th birthday, our group ranged from 23-30 year old's. The property has been renovated, rooms and amenities are updated and in great condition compared to other Riu's I have stayed at in Mexico. Food was what we expected, we had a few very good meals (get the steak at the Kulinarium!!) but the buffets served the same things everyday for breakfast and lunch. The beach was beautiful compared to other areas. If you are looking for a more family friendly atmosphere, there are probably other Riu's or other resorts that would fit your needs better as far as kid friendly pools and activities (this one was still great!). Riu Caribe was perfect for our group, we were looking for more of a party atmosphere. There were daily parties hosted in the Riu party area located on this property, guests from other Riu properties would be shuttled here for them. They were actually SO FUN - we definitely underestimated Riu at first. One thing I was very surprised about was the customer service. I've stayed at other Riu's where we were checked on constantly by the staff. At this Riu, there wasn't a single server at the pool or the beach. Not the end of the world, just surprising. Overall, a great budget option if you're looking to have a good time or unwind and relax!!

The parties were 10/10, the food was a 0/10. The only good thing about the food being so bad was that i lost 5lb. I came back skinny so I am not complaining. The parties made up for the bad food

Everything was great, except the ice machine… there was an ice machine close to our room (which we were surprised about because usually, they are in a separate area in a hotel). It was so loud that we could not sleep. The machine itself was a problem, and people kept walking around late at night to get ice was another one. When we asked to change our room, it was denied. We were expecting at least they could move the machine a bit further since it is wheeled. Even though it may not sound like a big deal, not having a good sleep in a short vacation was an issue. On the other hand, this may not be the case on all the floors and not for everyone. Therefore, we did not want to take a star. The food was great, the staff was friendly, and the hotel was clean. Overall, we liked the experience. We are even considering going back next year. However, we will ask for a room not close to one of those ice machines. Thank you, RIU Caribe!

The location was excellent, loved the beach and the pool. I got a free upgrade with the most amazing balcony overseeing the water. It is definitely a party hotel, so if you’re into that go for it. I only tried the buffet restaurant which was excellent and the “fancy” restaurant- which was disappointing. The staff were all very polite and friendly.
