Disappointing Experience Despite Nice Amenities Our experience at this hotel was disappointing. It looks stunning online, but we were surprised upon arrival. We paid extra for a swim-up room, only to find heavy construction right in front of our room that woke us up every morning. Despite our complaints, they refused to change our room. After flying in tired and hungry from the States, the front desk staff sat us down to sell us additional services for over an hour, even though we repeatedly said we weren’t interested and just wanted to rest and eat. The bellhop mishandled our airport shuttle reservation, and when we asked for help, they tried to upsell us on an overpriced taxi instead of resolving the issue. We ended up booking an Uber ourselves. The concierge’s dismissive response—"wait in line"—was particularly frustrating. To be fair, the service staff, such as the waiters, were fantastic, and the food, amenities, and overall service were good. However, the front desk and sales team ruined what could have been a great stay. I recommend looking elsewhere; there are plenty of better options in the area.

The food was terrible and almost everybody in my party got sick with diarrhea and vomiting. They were remodeling parts of the hotel and it was noisy the whole day. It was a very stressful visit.

The hotel is under construction and it’s a mess. The door lock in the room wouldn’t lock and they never fixed it. The bathroom smelled bad. The food selection is horrible. And they’re constantly trying to sell you time shares. Worse hotel ever. Staff is great though. Owners suck.

This hotel is under construction ALL over. Expect drilling & sawing throughout your vacation, as well as only one pool for everyone in the hotel, no hot tub and no wifi. You are only allowed one room service per day per room. Some of the staff were awesome. Special shout out to Jorge the bellman for going above and beyond. As well as the housekeeping lady we had and the lady who services the cabanas on the beach. If you get Hector as your beach waiter, you should move cabanas. Also, Mexican police were abundant at this hotel during our entire stay which was a little alarming. Very different than the other hotels we've stayed at in Cancun this year. Not sure if something was happening but there were armed police in the lobby, around the pool, in the ATM room, walking the beach looking up at the balconies, and at the entrance to our tower every day/night of our 6 day stay.

Un expected construction with construction pieces such as broken tile pieces. we didn't get any information about construction. No main pool and not many parasol. (no shade) But we had good time at there on the beach.

The property is quite beautiful and very clean. Very easy to get around and the beach was beautiful. Unfortunately, it was advertised with two pools and when we arrived, we were told the main pool and surrounding area was closed for renovations. We understand that happens but would have been nice to have known. Luckily, our room was close to the smaller pool and quick entrance to the beach. I'm sure it will look very nice when completed. The staff were very friendly and the food was overall good. Italian restaurant was very good. The main restaurant served the typical items you find in other resorts but there were a lot of options. We really liked our room and the small veranda looking over a garden and full ocean view. That was the positive review....now the negative: A big thunderstorm passed through on second last day and our room was just below ground level with 5 other rooms next to us. It completely flooded with rainwater pouring in so fast as it was running down the property stairs and hill. Water was up to our ankles in the entire room. We moved our stuff quickly and tried to phone front desk but our phone didn't work. We know the weather can't be controlled but your drainage system can. Took over 4 hours to get cleaned up. We were actually ok and laughed. However when we checked out, only had a bottle of wine on our bill and asked in good faith that they cover it because of what happened. A big NO was the answer from manager, and onlyoffered upgrade for next visit.

The food was just So/so. Drinks were pretty much watered down. Lots of construction work going on the campus. The Staff were extremely helpful. Enjoyed the on site activities!

The Staff 100 percent were awesome, Sara the concierge was truly a kind person, Jesus and Damian at the Bar closest to the Ocean were great. The one thing I truly disliked was all the construction we had no pool to use except for the tiny pool on the other side of the property that everyone had to use which made it over crowded, There should have been communication from the hotel before we booked or even a simple email from either Expedia or Grand Park Royal telling us sorry and giving us either some credit or an option to rebook at another Hotel that the pool would not be in use, I understand you have maintenance and things need to be fixed but at least 16 hours a day there was construction going on because of the pool being down and other buildings being renovated. I have pictures of all the construction.

Was never told under Construction, could not keep the rain water from blowing in the sliding doors, not enough food variety. Electric to the room went out for 4 hours on one day, water was off in the room for about 3 hours one other day. Showed up to see the main pool was under construction, everyone at the Adult pool. Restaurants not open until later, or closed on certain nights.
