"There were some unfair comments online made about the hotel which I disagree with. The hotel met our expectations and the staff were very friendly and helpful. It was just transitioning into Christmas and the decorations and aroma in reception and the lounges was beautiful. The Spa was reasonably quiet and we found the saunas and outdoor pool to be clean and enjoyable. Our room was also lovely and our only issue was that it took ages to get warm (not hot) water from bath and sink taps. The towel...

"The most superb stay for my wife’s 60th. No16 oozes history. The period detail is exquisite. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The dining experience was excellent. The haute cuisine on the a la carte was a bit beyond my sons’ comprehension but my wife and I loved it. The hotel has charm and style and the best experience i have enjoyed."

"The room was not as we expected. You opened the door straight onto the double bed. There were just about enough room to walk round the bed. 2 kited steps up to the bathroom. No chairs in the bedroom as so small. No tea and coffee facilities in the room, you helped yourself from a cupboard in the reception area.
