"Terrible welcoming. Nobody in reception. C/i process in the middle of a coffee shop and the hotel. They didn’t ask for booking names. They didn’t know how many nights we stay. Room dirty with only 2 tiny towels for 2 pax. Walls completely dirty. No complementary water as usual in Vietnam. A tiny bottle of warm water in the coffee for 10k vnd. "Absolutely loved our few days here. Off season so it was quiet and at times the staff outnumbered us 3 to 1. They were unfailingly friendly, and everyone customer-facing spoke at least basic tourist English which I didn't expect but which was welcome - despite our best efforts for months, our Vietnamese is pitiful! A few staff spoke very good English, too. Super clean facilities that are so much nicer than photos indicate. We stayed in one of the bungalows which was spacious. Comfy beds as well as porch furniture, which made it easy to spend ages staring at the waves. Good AC and showers (water didn't get too hot tho). The water and beach were both clean and pleasantly sandy - baffled by the comments saying the beach is rocky underfoot. Surf was a little too strong for us to want to swim (did in the pool, which was clean though a bit odd without consistent depth). The tide and wind kept bringing in some plastic trash, which we gathered on beach walks because why not? Apparently the bar at the other end of the beach will give you free beer in exchange for collected beach rubbish if that motivates you. Food was EXCELLENT. For sure geared to Vietnamese taste but they did have western options if you got tired of the crazy fresh seafood and perfect noodles :) no breakfast buffet while we were there as not enough guests, but plenty of options cooked to order. Genuinely considered changing the rest of our travel plans just so we could stay here longer. Highly recommended! "

"Our room was spacious and great interior, beyond our expectation for the price. The staff were polite. We loved the convenient location, the cafe shops and restaurants were around, beautiful sandy beach was just across the street. We'll definitely come back."

"Hotel staff went above and beyond to ensure I had everything I needed. Room service meal was delicious and quick. Spa staff were wonderful and the service was very well priced given the quality experience. Breakfast service was high quality with more than enough options. "

"We had a wonderful stay at The Ocean. We stayed for 3 nights in a Villa, 4 adults and one 1.5 yo baby. The Villa was well equipped and very comfortable. The master bedroom with a large bathroom and bathtub was great. The open concept living space was convenient, and well lit. The resort is new with excellent gym, large clean beautiful pool and play room for kids. There is only one restaurant, on the Maia Resort ground (neighbour). The menu was diverse with specialties every night (steak, chicken, Vietnamese...) and serves fresh and delicious food. One downside is that there is no other option for restaurant on the resort or walking distance, so be prepared to pay quiet a hefty price for food. We used the spa, it was fantastic, 4-hand massage and bamboo stick massage. Also quite expensive but very good service and serene environment. The beach is beautiful and very few people. It was rough weather, double red flag, so no swimming but beautiful for walks. Overall we loved this resort, the staff really is wonderful and made our stay great. We hope to be back. "
