"There are many different choices of onsens in the ryokan. The staff are excellent as well, their english proficiency is one of the best I’ve seen as well. Although there were some incidents at the start when we check in, the staffs are very efficient at dealing with it. Overall I’ll recommend anyone who visits Kurokawa onsen to give this ryokan a try"

The food was delicious but if you are a traveler with food allergies i would recommend confirming with the staff before and during your stay. They will accommodate your needs, however, we had to remind the staff of my partners food allergies a few times as the menu did not initially follow the food restrictions. "Very severe, dark and minimalist without the balance of aesthetic views or nature. Shoji screen room had choice of closed interior with very dark mood lighting and black surfaces or open shoji with view of workers at their desk in a neighboring glass tower. I Could not even see the sky on the 9 th floor. The room has no thin shade so workers in other building able to see in room if you have shoui open. The Onsen very comfortable but depressing and tomb like. I kept thinking I was in a Star...

"A very different experience for a foreigner, and one that I cherished as a student of Buddhism. If you aren’t adventurous, I don’t recommend it, and if you go, please be curious, open, and full of respect. The non-sleeping rooms will be very cold in winter, the food served is the food served, without changes available, there are rules about which slippers to wear where and what can be photographed, etc. If you’re interested in deep travel (versus hedonism), you will be gifted and changed....

"I booked a stay of 2 nights and 3 days. The first night I was not satisfied because the food I ordered was not what I ordered and was just regular food. The second night I was satisfied because the food I ordered was what I ordered. The first night's food was cheaper than what I paid for and there was no apology or refund from anyone. "Arima Onsen Motoyu Kosenkaku is known as “La Fontine / The Lodge Arima Resort” in English. The property is located in the outskirts of the main village of Arima and is about 25 minutes on foot up a hill. Travellers with mobility issues may find this property difficult to access unless prior transport is arranged with hotel reception staff. We stayed overnight in a standard Japanese-style room. The room, well-appointed on the top 6th floor, is very spacious and has amazing views of the mountains...
