The only thing that was abit disruptive was building work going on just next to the hotel. Oh and the veggie sausages at morning breakfast werent the best.apart from that realy mice stay

We arrived before the designated check-in time and requested the receptionist for an early check-in. She mentioned that there were no rooms ready, but still requested my information, so I provided my complete name. She requested my name once more, mentioning that it was not in the system. Next, I presented her with the confirmation and receipt I had received via email and on my Expedia account. After glancing at my confirmation email/receipt, she continues to claim that my name wasn't in the system despite me spelling it out for her. When I inquired about the name on the system, she instantly changed her tone and said that it was in the system after all. Messing around like that completely changed my perception of the hotel as what could have been a smooth experience with excellent customer service ended up leaving a bad impression. A 4 star hotel must have excellent customer service and should not have unfriendly receptionists representing the hotel. Another criticism is that they should offer at least two bottles of water in the room since it is a 4-star establishment and there was a lack of amenities in the bathroom. Therefore, considering the price paid, it would be advisable to seek accommodation elsewhere with better services as this hotel resembles more of a 3-star rating.

Really convenient location if you are driving to York. Lovely riverside walk into the centre. We were able to leave our car there for the whole of the day of checkout so got to spend another full day of our weekend in York

The Novotel is a great hotel for a weekend in York. Resaonably priced, clean, nice bar area. Its a 10 minute walk into the town centre and 5 minutes to the Barbican theatre if your their for a show. Highly recommend

The hotel was okay, not great for the price paid. There was a party happening downstairs which was noisy with the party attendees staythis was not shared with me prior to booking. If it was not I wouldn’t have stayed here. The pillows were flat and had no plump to them, they could do with an upgrade. The rest of the amenities were great and had no issue.

Our stay at the hotel was not bad overall however the beds were not comfortable and the were small and pillows flat, we did request more for our daughter however the hotel said they were short and could only provide an extra one. It wasn’t what we are used to, we stay in similar stand hotels staying at Hilton / double tree and they are far better on a positive note the pool area was great

Not what we expected from a Novotel hotel.
Room was tiny for 2 adults and 2 children. Housekeeping missed our room. Room was not very clean, there were marks in the tiny toilet. Overall, not worth what we spent.
