The Bay Plaza is a very affordable hotel in an excellent locality. We stayed in a king room on the 6th floor. It was a spacious room with a great view of the city and inner harbour snd had everything we needed. It’s an older hotel but scrupulously clean and the service was excellent with pjs Tigua car parking. We’ll definitely stay there again.

This is a well located easy accessed hotel that clearly has not been maintained for a long time. It was clean and the staff friendly, however the entrance is tired and unwelcoming, one of the 2 lifts did not work and I was told had not been fixed for 3 months, leading to a real health and safety risk. The second lift malfunctioned during my stay making my 90 year old father to stay in his room for 2 hours until it worked! the rooms are old, curtains not fitting the windows and the showers old without ventilation. COME ON Bay Plaza, spend some money and you would be the best botique Hotel in Wellington. Nice staff, awesome views, location brilliant........you can do this so much better

1. There was no milk in the room for tea/coffee. 2. The restaurant/bar closed early because "it was quiet" 3. The rooms themselves are in a pretty poor condition: furniture is scraped up and cosmetically looks awful 4. The whole place is rather drab and not pleasant I wish i had stayed elsewhere. Saturday night partying around the periphery of the hotel was very loud and woke me up multiple times. Avoid this location if you need peace and quiet
