Also the plug sockets behind the single beds were a little dodgy and the bathroom door had a gap when closed where you could clearly see through. "We had a great overnight stay at the Bella Vista! The managers were very friendly and offered some helpful tips when we told them we were heading to the South Island after checking out. The motel is in a really nice part of Wellington with a nice cafe a short walk away and great restaurants a bit further up the hill. Would definitely stay there again."

"The room was fine, very clean and comfortable but no window! Hotel clerks did not alert us to included buffet breakfast; they said we had to pay. I found out by accident it was included. They said we had to pay for a room upgrade. Location is great, but the area is a bit sketchy."

The cleanest hotel room…ever!

"This is a small hotel that is near Lambton Quay and the Terrace. At first sight, it did not look like a hotel. When you enter, the reception is very small and there was a long dark corridor to the rooms. I was on an upper floor. The room was surprisingly spacious! There was a small kitchenette and a washer/ dryer. What struck me most was the fact that this was the cleanest hotel room that I have ever stayed in (and in a year, I may have stayed in 20 hotels!) Everything was lovely… the one possible drawback is that the reception closes early. You will need to pick up your luggage before it shuts! "
