"Pretty old, but well maintained motel. Big rooms. Small bathroom. Friendly stuff. Sometimes shady guests. But mostly people are nice. I usually stay here when I come to ski at Snowshoe or run some trails or GBRT Marathon. "

"It was incredible at the Hillcrest. Martha and her family were so lovely and cared for us immensely. We were lucky to be there for the night when there were no other guests in the mansion, so we had the entire place to ourselves, and all of Martha's incredible hospitality. She whipped us up an incredible three course dinner at a moment's notice, and the breakfast the next morning was divine. We were in no rush and spent a good three or so hours enjoying the breakfast and chatting to her wonderful parents. Then there is the house itself, which was so beautiful and exactly the type of quintessential American place we were looking for as two Brits. Thank you so much to Martha and her parents for the best ever stay, we will always remember it, and we hope to go back one day."

Pleasant surprise!

"We were not expecting much for a motel that has obviously been around for a long time (i.e. old), but we were pleasantly surprised. The rooms were quiet, the beds were comfortable, and everything was very clean. The only disappointment was the onsite restaurant has closed."

"This is a wonderfully kept property with very gratuitous host and hostess. Our room had 2 queen beds, a love seat, a table, small refrigerator, and a microwave. We were visiting Cass Scenic Railway and Morning Glory Inn is one of the few lodging options in the area to offer breakfast. This is a rural area that primarily focuses on the winter ski trade. In the off season dining options are limited and tend to close early so plan accordingly. Also cell service is limited. If driving in from the south consider using US 219 instead of the routes that Google Maps and Mapquest might recommend. It is a much wider road than VA 39 and WV 39 even if a little bit longer from I64."
