"This is one of the best properties I have ever stayed at. We stayed at the lodge. It has been completely updated, but the rooms are still very small. The room was functional though. There was a refrigerator, but no microwave. There was a microwave to use down the hall. There are no bad views from the lodge as far as I could tell. "This was far and away the best "budget" hotel I have ever stayed in. The room was HUGE compared other places, immaculately clean, and the staff were all very courteous and friendly. The kid of treatment you'd expect from rural folks who treat everyone as family. I can't recommend this highly enough. If you're planning a stay in this area, don't even bother looking elsewhere. "Very pet friendly, which is important to us, given that we have two dogs. Alan Webb, the host, has a cockatoo, which the dogs loved and which we loved also. Good proximity to the Skyline Drive, Charlottesville, and the White Oak Canyon trail in the Shenandoah National Park.
