My stay at this hotel was disappointing due to several service issues during both check-in and check-out.
At check-in, the self-check-in machine failed to read any of my three credit cards, all of which worked flawlessly throughout Tokyo. I asked the staff member nearby if I could pay directly with my card, but they condescendingly replied, “Don’t you have cash?” (exact phrasing in English) and offered no further assistance. Left with no choice, I had to insert ¥100,000—the only cash we had on hand at the time—to complete the process. This was both frustrating and entirely avoidable, as my cards were valid elsewhere.
At check-out, I asked to store my luggage until 5 PM, as I had a late-night flight. The staff informed me that luggage storage was only available until noon, which felt unnecessarily restrictive. Adding to my frustration, I had noticed several bags stored in the lobby area the previous evening, and a guest checking in ahead of me was allowed to leave his luggage until his room was ready, likely in the late afternoon. When I inquired about these inconsistencies or alternative options, the staff repeatedly said “dame” and “wakaranai,” offering no explanation or assistance.
While the hotel’s location and facilities were acceptable, the unhelpful attitude of the staff and rigid, inconsistent policies made the experience far below expectations. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to travelers who value reliable service and flexibility.
