"The rooms are very nice, comfy and stylish. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom is well appointed with a great shower. There wasn't air conditioning in my room which did make it a little warm but not unbearable. I would recommend to others"

"I chose the hotel based on a recommendation from a friend. The room was large and modern, but as I turned on the shower, I had phone call and suddenly I see water flowing out from the bathroom and into the bedroom where my clothes for a business function was layed out. Things like this can happen but it was a very unfavorable situation as I was in a rush. I just had to put back on the clothes I was travelling in and leave for the function. "The room was beautiful and cosy. My husbands lived in Hamburg in the past and he really loved the view of the Speicherstadt from our room. The super comfy beds were a treat too. Only downsides are it’s a bit further from the town centre and ubahn which we knew at the time of booking so we walked to most places. We arrived on the weekend with a car and there was not really a convenient drop off location. Parking nearby was quite expensive. I would’ve liked a kettle or coffee machine that...

"Overall a really great hotel. There are only minor things like teabags,one dishwasher tablets more and ensure that the electric carparks only used by electric cars. Highly recommended for a weekend or business trip to Hamburg. We will come back"

"This one’s a winner…a venerable hotel across from the main train station. It’s lobby, restaurant and bar echo the property’s 120 year history, with updated and crisp bedrooms, efficient and friendly personnel, and an unbeatable location in terms of access to the rest of the city. Bedrooms very a lot. Some are significantly larger than others, so it’s worth making sure you’re getting what you want. "

"Four days of pure luxury. We upgraded to the Europa suite and it was the most magical venue for Christmas. We enjoyed a magnificent Christmas lunch, delicious breakfasts and wonderful room service meals. The staff were absolutely phenomenal. We really don’t have enough superlatives for our stay at the Fontenay. Worth every penny! "

Modern and stylish with great location!

"The hotel was very modern and stylish. It is located in a park so is very quiet at night. The reception staff was great and efficient. The rooms are big and the beds are huge and very comfortable though maybe a bit too high. There is a big tv, a small fridge, a kettle and tea/ coffee and bottle water available in the room, so it is really above the average 4☆ hotels. The bathroom is spacious with a bathtub which l had requested, so it was fantastic helpful. There is a hairdryer and en iron! So its really above average 4☆ hotel! The only problem l encountered was with a cleaning staff who didn't understand neither German nor English, and seemed a bit annoyed when I asked him to come back later as l was in the middle of a bath, but he didn't come back that day... so maybe a little improvement der, but of course l should have put the do not disturb sign on the door! Otherwise it was a great 4 nights stay in the wonderful city of Hamborg. "
