Love history? Head for Pioneer Square, the oldest neighbourhood in Seattle.

Pioneer Square was established in 1852, though we must say it’s held its age well. Brick buildings never really go out of style, and these days they house all sorts of galleries, shops and cafes. See important aspects of the city’s storied past by walking along the Trail to Treasure, then feel free to gape a bit at a waterfall in the middle of the city. Yes, a real waterfall—albeit manmade—takes centre stage at Waterfall Garden Park, and yes, you definitely want to get a picture with it.

9.2/10 Wonderful! (3,386 reviews)
"Overall a nice place. Breakfast was not worth the price and room is on the small side and I don’t know if it’s staff or the person upstairs that was super noisy and I didn’t understand why it took them hours at midnight and all hours of the morning to hang up their clothes with the hanger."

Cute, quaint, in a great location.
"This was a great hotel within walking distance of the pier and Pikes place. The room was comfy and clean and designed in a way that made sense. It was great. They only offer valet service at an OUTRAGEOUS price though, so that is the one downside."

"My second visit. I chose this site for price and location, both of whichsuit me well. I note the room is small and there is a very small bathroom. Also, one takes stairs to get to elevator.
