Sarasota Classic Car Museum is a state-of-the-art museum with an exciting range of exhibits that detail the fascinating feats of engineering and design throughout the history of the automobile. Over 75 automobiles are displayed in the museum, including vintage makes, classics and new models from a wide range of manufacturers. See rare models and timeless favorites alongside the original cars of celebrities.
Explore more than 50,000 square feet (4,600 square meters) with a constantly rotating collection of cars that span over 100 years of automobile history. Italian car aficionados will love the Italian car collection, which includes models from Alfa Romeo, Ferrari and Rivolta.
See the Rolls Royce collection that belonged to 1920s circus magnate, John Ringling. John Lennon’s 1965 Mercedes Benz is available for view, as well as Paul McCartney’s iconic Mini Cooper and Katharine Hepburn’s white Ford Crown Victoria. “King of the Dragsters,” Don Garlits, has one of his speedy dragster makes on display here.
Admire impeccably restored vintage and classic cars, including Bentleys, Cadillacs, DeLoreans, Edsels and Ford Model Ts. Newer 1990s luxury models by Jaguar GT and Maserati and sleek speedsters are a treat to see as well.
There’s more to see at this museum than cars: vintage game arcade and antique camera collections are also included. The gift shop features rare collectibles, miniature models and automotive books.
Wander through the museum at your own pace or go on a guided tour with one of the museum’s volunteer docents to gain a deeper insight into the historical significance and personal stories attached to the classic and rare cars. The museum is the second-oldest continuously operating antique car museum in the United States and contains a wealth of knowledge and expertise. The Sarasota Classic Car Museum is located across the road from the Ringling Estate. Visit the museum any day except Christmas. Admission costs are inexpensive and special rates apply for children and seniors. A free parking lot is located on site.
