I will start with that having my adult son with me i felt safe. I would have not felt safe traveling as a solo woman, solo woman with any of my grandchildren or even other female friends. The area is rampant with addicts and lots of homeless. Neither of which necessarily equals dangerous but you just never know. The hotel itself was clean, smelled nice and was great for a quick stay. Wouldn’t be my first choice for a longer than 2 night vacation. As with everything you get what you pay for. Do your homework before visiting SF.

The hotel itself was great. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The area was not the best as a solo female traveler, which obviously can’t be helped by the hotel. I will note that they had security in the lobby at nighttime that could see out to the parking lot, which helped me feel safer.

It may not be totally unsafe but the large number of homeless people is very worrying. The locals advised against going on certain streets. That was helpful.

Property wasn’t as small as I thought it was. Parking is limited, but there were spots available. It is kinda pricey, but cheaper than the surrounding lots- $30. When I checked in, the staff at the counter was quiet, but professional. While heading to the room, the elevator was a bit sketchy, shaking a bit when the door closed- but it was quick. Hallway floor was kinda dirty and stained. Walls were thin. Upon entering room, there was a strange odor in it. I briefly inspected the room, it wasn’t too bad aside the smell. Definitely good for a night or two! Close to downtown. It’s a corner property so lots of traffic and noise if you’re not used to it, but I was so it wasn’t bad. Overall it wasn’t a terrible experience!
