Modest room, great value. Handy if you just need a place to sleep and will spend all day and night adventuring and partying. Only a very short walk to Petco Park and Gaslamp night spots.

Truly did not like this property would not recommend staying here when you get the code for your door and then the lady tells you it’s not the right code use this code then to find out that basically you can just put in any random four numbers and hit the checkmark more than once and all the doors were open we tested this not only on our door, but three other people’s doors that were in our group. There was no remote for our TV. For the price I paid I could’ve stayed in a neighbor and hotel with parking on site because mind you with this hotel there’s no parking anywhere near it for overnight. The closest one we found was about five blocks up and five blocks over, which is fine walk during the day, but not at night

Worked just fine for two nights at the convention center for a conference, since all I needed was a place to shower and sleep. Two knocks against it though: First, the email confirmations make clear there's a $40 charge for early check in, but there are no instructions on how to get an early check in (the instructions say the key code to access the room will not work before 4pm). Second, and more concerning, the smoke alarm in the room was covered, thoroughly and intentionally, by a plastic bag. I don't know if this was management or a prior guest who wanted to smoke in the room, but it didn't feel great.

It is a staff-free hotel; thus, you have to do everything by yourself. Not bad! But without any staff to ask, it is still inconvenient. The room is quite small. Don’t expect too much.

Rita was a fantastic host at hotel Gigi! She went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and to work around her usual check-out hours so that I could maximize my time enjoying the sights of San Diego before and evening flight out. The hotel itself was very nice too. For a great price, It is expectedly small but has all the essentials and was in spotless condition. It was evident how much care Rita put into preparing each room and making sure every guest was cared for. If I ever find myself back in San Diego, this will be the first place I look for lodging!

The location is excellent, with the stadium, Gaslamp Quarter, and convention center within walking distance. However, there are some issues: noises from adjacent rooms, hallways, and outside can be heard, and it takes a long time for hot water to come out. The lack of staff contributes to the affordable pricing, but during my stay, the fire alarm went off, and all guests had to evacuate. Although it was a false alarm, the absence of staff in such situations made me feel a bit uneasy.
