"Menger was not my choice. It was my half sister visiting from Germany. Most hotels are just a place to rest your head. The hotel and its history had me hook line and sinker. The area is filled with early American history and the hotel is a big part of it. I loved my stay and the visit with my sister that I only met 2 years ago thanks to a DNA site. I am 62 and she is 60 and lives in Germany. Anyway, it is a wonderful place to stay and has a lot of interesting and somewhat haunted history. I would love to visit there again someday."

"I was greeted in a not-so-friendly manner by the desk person. I asked a question for clarity and she was condescending to me. I’ve been at the location before and received great service. The person who was there the morning I checked in was subpar."

"This hotel is in a convenient location for visiting many sites around San Antonio. If unable to walk, an Uber is reasonable from this location to the Alamo. A grocery store/market is right across the street. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. "
