"A lovely little spot, next to the river. You can hear the river lightly in the background from my room, which made it lovely to fall asleep to. A very friendly, warm welcome. "I arrived to the area with a rental car, and they have an attendant who will come by and guide you to check in and help with luggage as they'll move your car and keep the keys afterwards. Check in was easy, with a minor mixup as they brought me to another room confusing me with another foreigner who would be checking in same day but corrected it quickly. "Thank you Nikko Hoshinoyado- we had a wonderful Japanese experience in Nikko and at the hotel. We are sorry we don’t speak Japanese, and that made little things challenging a bit. We wish we knew that for a best experience we should have booked dinner at the hotel because we did not find a single suitable place to eat within walking distance of the hotel (October 18, 2024). So we did not have dinner that night. Breakfast, on the other hand was fantastic. We also loved the Onsen experience....

"The outdoor bath attached to the room was really nice! The look and feel of the hotel grounds was fantastic and the breakfast was quite nice. The room however wasn’t old and worn out.
