"The Spier is a lovely vineyard with good accommodation. They are now starting a complete renovation of the hotel and keeping all their staff on as part of the plan . I have always felt completely safe and cared for within the hotel grounds . A wonderful breakfast in the sunshine is the perfect way to start the day . There are many things to do swimming , cycling , walking , visit the hotel vegetable garden and see the birds enroute . I look forward to visiting Spier next year after its...

"Michel made us feel so welcome to Cape Town and his passion for this area was infectious. We took him up on many of his suggestions. Lovely friendly staff and day and night security systems means you feel safe. So many great places to eat very close by and just at the edge of Bo Kaap but only a 25 minute walk to the V&A waterfront. We hope to return! "

"The couch, carpet and chair in the lounge were filthy. The place also smelled like it was standing closed for months. We kept the door open constantly for fresh air. The bathrooms can also do with extractor fans. Coffee machine missing, as well as docking station, but there was a used (dirty) espresso cup on the counter when we arrived. "The staff at the hotel were super friendly and amazing! We arrived early, our room wasn’t ready but they gave us another room righter away. That was so appreciated as we travelled long days to get there. However, our room was dated and worn. Living room furniture very worn out and not comfortable, perhaps our original room was to be more updated I’m not sure. But I was quite disappointed with the state of the accommodations. The location was perfect! The people were helpful and friendly! "
